SC Third Quarter

After sitting much of the first half vs. Snow canyon because of foul trouble, Joel came out in the fourth quarter and helped his team quickly erase a one point half time deficit. at one point in the 3rd, the redmen led by ten points. Joel scored 11 points and had 2 assists in the quarter on 3/4 shooting from behind the 3-point line.

Wearing the number 3, Joel carried his team to victory netting 18 points, 5 assists and 7 rebounds from the point guard/shooting guard position. This win came against classification 5A opponent Spanish Fork.

Joel Einfeldt Nominated as McDonalds All-American

Joel Einfeldt, from Cedar City High School, has been selected as one of the Utah nominees for the McDonald's All-American team. The 6'1 senior guard is coming off of junior year where he led his team to their first region championship in 20 years and first state play-off birth in ten years. He led Cedar High School in scoring at just a shade above 12 points per game and led them in assists at 4.7 per game. This last summer Joel competed on the prestigious Salt Lake Metro AAU team where he earned a starting spot at the point guard position, playing in a handful of tournaments. The nomination comes as the first of it's kind in the history of his high school.

July 25th, 2008, Las Vegas, NV. In the semi-finals of the Las Vegas Main Event, the Salt Lake Metro AAU program faced the Texas D-1 All Stars. Joel, in this game, wearing the number 14 on the black team, finished with a personal tournament high 17 points on 6/9 shooting including 3/5 from behind the 3-point line, in a losing effort. Almost more impressive was his 8 assists to only 2 turnovers. He also finished with 7 steals and 3 rebounds. One college coach following the game commented that Joel showed he is a "high IQ player who plays well with talent around him. That is fairly uncommon for a player from a small school."

For Cedar, Joel Einfeldt scored a game-high 25 in a losing effort. Battling back and forth, Springville's classification 4A All-State point guard Michael Salazar, and Einfeldt put on a show of what could be 2 of the best point guards in the stae of Utah. Salazar finished with 17 points and 8 assists while Einfeldt added to his game high 25 points with 6 assists and 7 rebounds, but was unable to gain the home victory. Incidentally both players are members of the same competitive summer league team, the Salt Lake Metro AAU team which has recently been ranked as high as second in the nation, Einfeldt a Junior on the squad and Salazar a Senior.

In a game featuring Utah's class 3A number one team, the Delta Rabbits, and the number two team,the Cedar High Redman, Joel Einfeldt scored 22 points to lead Cedar's upset bid over Delta. The Redmen had a 14-0 run coming out of half to grab the lead after trailing by 13 at the intermission. Einfeldt finished with 18 of his 22 points in the second half including 5 assists and 8 rebounds in the contest from the point guard position.

Joel is wearing the number 3 of the home team in this video.
